The Atlanta Hawks have signed forward Keyshawn Bryant and waived guard Devon Higgs, according to a team press release reported by Hoops Rumors on Wednesday, September 9.
The moves restore Atlanta’s training-camp roster to 21 players as the Hawks continue preparing for the 2026-27 season.
Bryant, a 6-foot-6 forward, brings three seasons of NBA G League experience after going undrafted in 2023. He has played for the Ontario Clippers and Windy City Bulls, averaging 9.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18.9 minutes across 40 career G League games.
His most productive G League season came with Windy City in 2025-26. Bryant averaged 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 22 games while shooting 47.4% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range.
Bryant also produced the biggest scoring game of his G League career during the season, erupting for 41 points against the Westchester Knicks.
The South Carolina product previously spent four seasons with the Gamecocks before transferring to South Florida for his final college season. His best season at South Carolina came in 2020-21, when he averaged 14.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 18 games.
Bryant also has professional experience outside the G League, having played for the Niagara River Lions in the Canadian Elite Basketball League and the Sudbury Five in the Basketball Super League.
He joined Chicago’s Summer League team in July and appeared in two games before signing with Atlanta.
The Hawks did not disclose the terms of Bryant’s contract. Hoops Rumors reported that it is likely a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 agreement, which could allow Bryant to earn a bonus of up to $91,000 if he joins Atlanta’s G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, and spends at least 60 days with the team during the season.
Higgs was signed by Atlanta on Tuesday before being waived one day later. The guard went undrafted from Georgia Southwestern State in 2023 and has spent most of his professional career in the G League.
Higgs has played for the Motor City Cruise, Greensboro Swarm and College Park Skyhawks. His departure makes room for Bryant while keeping Atlanta at the NBA’s 21-player training-camp limit.
The Hawks are entering the season after going 46-36 in 2025-26 and finishing fifth in the Eastern Conference. They lost to the New York Knicks in the first round.
Atlanta has undergone significant roster changes since then, including trading Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks and adding Luguentz Dort and Ryan Nembhard in a three-team deal. The Hawks also acquired Aaron Wiggins and Devin Carter and selected Kingston Flemings eighth overall in the 2026 NBA Draft.
With Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Onyeka Okongwu among the returning core, Bryant now has an opportunity to compete for a longer-term role through Atlanta’s preseason and G League system.
