Malik Beasley is seeking temporary permission to travel while he remains subject to federal restrictions connected to his sports betting case.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the NBA guard has asked a judge to approve travel between September 6 and September 15. His planned trip includes stops in Rancho Mirage and Beverly Hills, California, followed by Hawaii.
Beasley’s attorney said the California portion of the trip is for family reasons. The veteran guard wants to spend several days with his two young children before they begin school.
His planned visit to Hawaii is work-related. Beasley is scheduled to participate in a resort promotion connected to his social media activities.
Prosecutors reportedly do not oppose the travel request. Beasley has also agreed to provide his complete itinerary, remain available by phone throughout the trip and return to Miami afterward.
The case dates back to June, when Beasley was charged in a federal investigation involving sports betting and his NBA performances during the 2023-24 season.
Beasley appeared in court for his arraignment in July and pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, bribery in sporting contests, honest services wire fraud conspiracy and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
He was subsequently released on a $100,000 bond while the federal case continues.
