Ireland captain Caelan Doris is in a race to be fit for the Nations Championship tests this November.
The number-eight was forced off with a knee injury during their win over the Bulls in the URC final back in June.
He is expected to be out of action for Leinster at the start of the seasons, but could also miss tests against Argentina, Fiji and world champions South Africa.
