Liverpool host Nottingham Forest as Andoni Iraola takes charge of his first Premier League game at Anfield.
Iraola’s side required a late Dominik Szoboszlai penalty to rescue a 2-2 draw at Newcastle last time out, while Oliver Glasner’s reign at Forest has started with back-to-back defeats to Leeds United in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
Iraola has warned that Liverpool need to smarten up defensively but changes could be coming in attack with the Reds agreeing a £120m deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola and pushing to sign Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace.
It has thrown doubt on Cody Gakpo’s future, however, with the Dutch forward also attracting interest from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. Gakpo is set to be involved today, but Iraola has refused to guarantee that he will stay.
