Hapoel Tel Aviv owner Ofer Yannay has reached out to NBA legend Dennis Rodman with an unusual proposal to help the EuroLeague club improve its rebounding.
According to Sport5, Yannay offered Rodman $100,000 to travel to Israel and spend three days working with Hapoel. The package would also include business-class flights and luxury accommodation for Rodman and up to three guests.
“We still have to get more rebounds,” Yannay wrote. “Many years ago, I read your story about how you turned rebounding into an exact science. I was fascinated by the way you described studying shot angles, the spin of the ball, the way it bounces off the rim, and where you had to be before anyone else even understood where the ball was going. That story has stayed with me.”
Yannay believes his players could benefit from learning directly from one of the greatest rebounders in NBA history.
“Instead of talking about rebounding, why not invite the person who turned it into an art? I would be honored to invite you to Tel Aviv as my personal guest and as a guest of Hapoel Tel Aviv,” he added.
The proposed three-day visit would include a specialized rebounding clinic with Hapoel’s players.
