Luka Doncic is bringing the Los Angeles Lakers together before the new NBA season by inviting the entire roster to his home country of Slovenia.
According to reports, Doncic will pay for every player’s travel and accommodation as the team gathers during the first week of August.
The visit will include a four-day minicamp, along with sightseeing in Ljubljana and other parts of Slovenia, plus golf outings for interested players.
The gathering comes ahead of a new era for the Lakers following LeBron James’ departure after eight seasons.
Doncic is expected to become the franchise’s centerpiece as Los Angeles begins the season with a reshaped roster.
To strengthen the team, the Lakers added Walker Kessler, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Quentin Grimes, Matisse Thybulle, Kevon Looney and Collin Sexton.
After being swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference semifinals last season, Los Angeles will hope its revamped lineup can take a step forward.
