Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s father believes Oklahoma City is the ideal place for his son and does not expect the NBA superstar to ever leave the Thunder.

He explained that a move to his hometown Toronto would bring constant requests from family members for game tickets, while playing in a larger market could also create unnecessary distractions because of the nightlife.

Instead, he feels Oklahoma City provides the perfect environment for Shai to focus on basketball and continue building his career.

“Shai is perfect where he is in OKC, and I don’t think he will ever leave.”

Gilgeous-Alexander has played 8 seasons for the Thunder and Clippers. He has averaged 25.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in 530 regular-season games.

The Oklahoma City guard was selected to play in 4 All-Star games.

He has won 2 MVP awards, 1 Finals MVP award, and 1 NBA championship.
