LeBron James is still taking his time with free agency, and according to ESPN insider Shams Charania, no decision is expected anytime soon.
Speaking on Monday, the sports analyst said he had spoken with James’ longtime agent, Rich Paul, who emphasized that the four-time MVP remains in complete control of the process.
“I spoke to Rich Paul, [James’] longtime agent, this morning. And Rich Paul made it clear to me that the choice is LeBron James’ right now… There is no decision, no choice yet. There’s no timetable as of yet,” Charania said.
Charania added that the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers are currently the main teams under consideration by James and his camp.
Earlier in the day, former teammate Patrick Beverley sparked speculation by posting, “Rumor has it Bron makes his decision today!!!”
However, James appeared to dismiss the claim by sharing an Instagram story of comedian Kevin Hart repeatedly saying, “I don’t know who needs to hear this… Shut the f*** up. Shut the f*** up.”
While it remains unclear whether James was responding directly to Beverley, Charania’s report quickly made it clear that no announcement is imminent.
