The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to a two-way contract with forward Jalen Wilson, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The 25-year-old joins Atlanta after spending his first three NBA seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 7.4 points across 176 career games.
Wilson arrives following a 2025-26 campaign in which he appeared in 54 games for Brooklyn, averaging 6.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 15.9 minutes per contest. He shot 39.6% from the field, 35.5% from three-point range and 71.9% from the free-throw line while primarily serving as a reserve.
The former Kansas standout saw his largest NBA role during the 2024-25 season. Wilson played in 79 games, including 22 starts, and posted career highs of 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists while averaging 25.7 minutes. Although he shot 39.7% overall, he connected on 33.7% of his 4.6 three-point attempts per game and converted 81.8% of his free throws.
Across three NBA seasons, Wilson has averaged 20.2 minutes, 7.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He owns career shooting splits of 40.1% from the field, 34.0% from beyond the arc and 78.8% at the foul line, giving Atlanta another experienced wing capable of contributing on both ends while maintaining roster flexibility through a two-way agreement.
The signing continues an eventful offseason for the Hawks, who have significantly reshaped their roster after finishing 46-36 last season and reaching the playoffs as the Eastern Conference’s sixth seed before falling to the eventual NBA champion New York Knicks in six games during the first round.
Atlanta’s front office has emphasized perimeter defense throughout the summer. The Hawks recently acquired Luguentz Dort and Ryan Nembhard in a three-team trade while also adding Aaron Wiggins earlier in the offseason. Those moves complement an already strong defensive backcourt featuring Dyson Daniels, who earned All-Defensive Second Team honors last season, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who averaged 20.8 points while finishing runner-up in the NBA’s Most Improved Player voting.
Wilson now enters a crowded wing rotation led by All-Star forward Jalen Johnson, who averaged 22.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 7.9 assists during a breakout 2025-26 campaign. Atlanta also returns veterans Corey Kispert and Buddy Hield while bringing in rookies Kingston Flemings, Zuby Ejiofor and Henri Veesaar through the 2026 NBA Draft.
