Crvena Zvezda has strengthened its backcourt with the signing of German international David Kramer, the club announced Wednesday. The 29-year-old shooting guard agreed to a two-year contract with the Serbian club and arrives after spending the 2025-26 season with Real Madrid.
Kramer joins Crvena Zvezda as an experienced perimeter option following a career path that has included stops in Germany, Spain and the NBA G League. The 196 cm guard developed through the ratiopharm Ulm system before playing for Bayern Munich, Lowen Braunschweig, Granada, Tenerife and Real Madrid.
The club highlighted Kramer’s shooting ability, defensive intensity and energy as key reasons for bringing him to Belgrade. He also arrives as a member of Germany’s 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup championship team.
Kramer spent the 2025-26 season with Real Madrid, appearing in 14 EuroLeague games and averaging 2.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 11.4 minutes per game. He shot 32.0% from three-point range in the competition while playing a limited role on a roster that reached the EuroLeague Final.
In Liga ACB action, Kramer averaged 6.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 27 games for Real Madrid while shooting 49.6% from the field and 42.3% from three-point range.
Before joining Real Madrid, Kramer had his strongest professional seasons in Spain. With Tenerife during the 2024-25 campaign, he averaged 11.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 33 Liga ACB games while connecting on 39.0% of his three-point attempts.
His 2023-24 season with Granada also established him as a consistent scoring threat, as he posted 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game over 33 league appearances.
Crvena Zvezda enters the 2026-27 season after making changes to its roster and coaching staff. The club parted ways with head coach Sasa Obradovic and several players, including Codi Miller-McIntyre, Isaiah Canaan, Donatas Motiejunas, Jasiel Rivero and Uros Plavsic.
Former Unicaja Malaga head coach Ibon Navarro has taken over the team, while Kramer becomes the second major addition alongside guard Chris Jones, who signed a contract through 2028.
The move addresses a need for perimeter shooting after Crvena Zvezda finished the 2025-26 EuroLeague regular season with a 21-17 record, placing 10th in the standings and earning a play-in spot.
