USA Basketball has finalized its coaching staff, with Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff, and Gonzaga head coach Mark Few joining Erik Spoelstra as assistant coaches.
Spoelstra was appointed Team USA’s head coach last September, replacing Steve Kerr.
Few is no stranger to USA Basketball, having served in multiple coaching roles with the national program over the past decade.
Daigneault and Bickerstaff, meanwhile, will make their debuts on the Team USA coaching staff.
Daigneault earned the opportunity after guiding the Thunder to the 2025 NBA championship and leading Oklahoma City to the top seed in the Western Conference for three consecutive regular seasons.
Bickerstaff also enjoyed a successful campaign, helping transform the Detroit Pistons into the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed after returning the franchise to the playoffs in 2025.
The new coaching staff will prepare Team USA for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifying games in late August ahead of the 2027 World Cup in Qatar.
As the host nation of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the United States will automatically qualify for the tournament.
