Kawhi Leonard is not expected to return to the Clippers next season, with Los Angeles actively exploring trade options after deciding against offering the veteran forward a contract extension.

The Raptors have emerged as the leading destination, with Toronto and the Clippers reportedly engaged in serious negotiations.

According to reports, Leonard has indicated that the Raptors are the one team he would be willing to commit to on a long-term deal.

“Kawhi Leonard’s tenure in Los Angeles with the Clippers is coming to an end,” Shams Charania said on SportsCenter, adding that the lack of extension talks has made a trade increasingly likely.

Leonard is coming off an outstanding season, averaging 27.9 points in 65 games while earning All-NBA Second Team honors and finishing seventh in MVP voting.

Despite his strong play, the Clippers were eliminated in the Play-In Tournament after a 42-40 campaign.

Following Paul George’s departure in 2024 and subsequent trades involving James Harden and Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles has continued reshaping its roster, with Leonard now appearing to be the next major player on the move.
