
Ireland’s swimmers rounded off a successful Sette Colli International in Rome yesterday with another impressive haul of medals.
Ellen Walshe won gold in the 200 metres butterfly before adding silver in the 200 individual medley, while Mona McSharry claimed gold in the 200 breaststroke to complete a full set of medals across the competition.
John Shortt also took silver in the men’s 200 backstroke as the Irish team now switches its focus to the Commonwealth Games.
