Spencer Jones is expected to remain a priority for the Denver Nuggets after emerging as one of the team’s biggest surprises during the 2025-26 season.
The 25-year-old forward is entering restricted free agency following a breakout campaign in which he established himself as a reliable rotation player.
Denver believes Jones has earned the opportunity to stay with the organization after developing from a two-way contract into a regular contributor.
“Spencer’s done himself a lot good, a lot of favors this past year, specifically how he stepped in, defended, made shots,” Nuggets VP of player personnel Jon Wallace said.
“He was just a big part of what we did, but we feel confident. He’s a homegrown guy. You want to reward those guys with them sticking to the plan and really developing themselves. We feel confident where we are.”
Jones began the season on a two-way deal before injuries created a larger opportunity, eventually earning a standard NBA contract for the remainder of the year.
In his second NBA season, the 6-foot-7 wing averaged 5.5 points and 3.3 rebounds while providing strong perimeter defense and efficient shooting, including nearly 40 percent from three-point range.
