Stephen Curry’s reported 10-year, $400 million endorsement agreement with Chinese sportswear company Li-Ning has drawn attention across the basketball world, and one of the strongest reactions came from longtime teammate Draymond Green.
Speaking on The Draymond Green Show, Green expressed amazement at the scale of the deal and what it says about Curry’s influence both on and off the court.
“To sign a $400 million plus sneaker deal, allegedly, at 38 years old is unheard of,” Green said, via NBC Sports Bay Area. “Which just lets you know the weight that the name Steph Curry carries, which lets you know that the presence that Steph Curry has, who he is, what he is, what he stands for, that they’re willing to sign this a 10-year deal.”
The agreement ends Curry’s 12-year partnership with Under Armour and marks one of the most significant endorsement moves in basketball. The reported deal gives the four-time NBA champion an opportunity to expand Curry Brand on a global scale, including signing athletes under his own label and developing a golf product line.
The partnership is also a strategic move for both sides. Li-Ning is already a dominant force in the Chinese basketball market, while Curry remains one of the NBA’s most recognizable global stars. The company plans to open dedicated Curry Brand stores in both the United States and China as part of the collaboration.
Green’s comments highlight the rarity of such a contract at this stage of a player’s career. Most major sneaker deals are signed when athletes are entering their prime years, not approaching their late 30s. Curry, however, continues to be one of the league’s most marketable figures thanks to his on-court production, championship résumé and worldwide popularity.
Even during the 2025-26 season, Curry remained among the NBA’s elite performers. The Warriors guard averaged 26.6 points per game while shooting 39.3% from three-point range and 92.3% from the free-throw line across 43 appearances. His scoring efficiency and continued ability to stretch defenses remain central to Golden State’s offense.
The reported agreement also creates an interesting connection within the Warriors organization. Jimmy Butler, who joined Golden State and averaged 20.0 points per game during the 2025-26 campaign, is already one of Li-Ning’s NBA endorsers. Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade has long been associated with the brand as well.
