Jalen Brunson is already cementing his place among the greatest players in New York Knicks history, but franchise legend Walt Frazier believes one accomplishment still separates him from the very top tier.
With New York chasing its first championship since 1973, Brunson has an opportunity to further elevate his legacy and potentially enter the conversation alongside the franchise’s all-time icons.
“I always say it’s Willis (Reed), and Willis said it’s Patrick (Ewing), and Patrick says it’s Patrick,” Frazier said.
While Frazier acknowledged Brunson’s impact, he believes a championship would solidify his place among the franchise’s legends.
“So he would definitely be on Mount Rushmore. We’ll put him up there if he can bring this title.”
Brunson has played 8 seasons for the Knicks and Mavericks. He has averaged 19.2 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in 561 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 2 All-Star games.
