The Magic began their coaching search after parting ways with Mosley following a first-round playoff loss to the Detroit Pistons that went the full seven games.
Sweeney is not the only candidate under consideration. Billy Donovan and Jeff Van Gundy have also been linked to the position as Orlando evaluates its options ahead of next season.
According to reports, Magic executives planned to meet with Sweeney during the Western Conference Finals as the organization continues its search for its next head coach.
