Nick Nurse has been mentioned as a possible coaching option for the Dallas Mavericks, but a move appears highly unlikely at this stage.
According to Brett Siegel, the Philadelphia 76ers are not expected to give Dallas permission to interview their head coach if the Mavericks decide to pursue him.
League sources indicate that Philadelphia remains committed to Nurse and has no intention of allowing discussions with another franchise.
Nurse’s name surfaced as a potential candidate due to his strong reputation and past success, similar to how executives such as Masai Ujiri have previously taken chances on rising coaches like Nurse and Darko Rajakovic.
However, unlike those situations, the Sixers are reportedly prepared to block any attempt by Dallas to speak with their current coach.
As a result, the Mavericks may have to focus their coaching search elsewhere, with Nurse expected to remain in Philadelphia.Sixers unlikely to allow Nurse interview
