Real Madrid Baloncesto has once again reached the EuroLeague Final Four, marking the club’s 11th appearance since 2011 and continuing its tradition as the competition’s most successful organization with 11 European titles.

This season, however, looked uncertain early on after Madrid opened with a disappointing 5-6 record and faced questions about its rebuilt roster and coaching structure under Sergio Scariolo.

Scariolo stayed confident throughout the struggles, and Madrid eventually responded by dominating at home with an 18-1 record at Movistar Arena before finishing third in the regular season at 24-14.

The club reshaped its project during the offseason, adding players such as Theo Maledon, Trey Lyles, Chuma Okeke, and Alex Len while continuing to balance defensive intensity with offensive versatility.

“We’re reaching the Final Four at exactly the right moment,” Lyles said before the trip to Athens.

Madrid’s preparation has become more complicated following injuries to Walter Tavares and Len, forcing the team to rely more heavily on Usman Garuba and smaller lineups.

In the semifinal, Madrid will face Valencia Basket, which reached its first-ever EuroLeague Final Four after a breakthrough season under Pedro Martínez.

After winning the EuroLeague in 2023, losing the 2024 final, and missing the Final Four in 2025, Real Madrid arrives in Athens with one clear objective – winning another European title.
