Shai Gilgeous-Alexander followed up his first MVP campaign with another historic season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, leading the franchise to an NBA-best 64 wins despite the team dealing with the third-most games missed because of injuries.
With the award, Gilgeous-Alexander became the first player to win back-to-back MVP honors since Nikola Jokić captured the trophy in 2021 and 2022.
He also became the first guard to accomplish the feat since Stephen Curry in 2015 and 2016.
The Thunder superstar also made NBA history statistically, becoming the first guard ever to average at least 30 points per game while shooting 55 percent from the field over an entire season.
Gilgeous-Alexander additionally joined Michael Jordan as the only players in league history to average 30 points, five assists, and 50 percent shooting across four consecutive seasons.
One of the most remarkable parts of his season was his consistency.
Gilgeous-Alexander scored at least 20 points in every single game he played, joining only Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor in accomplishing that feat.
He also finished the season with a league-best plus-minus of +788, more than 100 points ahead of the next closest player, Victor Wembanyama at +682.
