New footage shows rival scuffing penalty spot just moments before Harry Kane’s nightmare spot-kick

HARRY KANE saw his normally flawless penalty record go up in smoke after fresh footage appeared to show a rival player scuffing up the spot before his miss.

Cameras caught Jeanuël Belocian trampling on the penalty spot before Harry Kane stepped up during Bayern Munich’s clash with Wolfsburg.

Seconds later, the England captain slipped and blasted his effort high and wide – breaking his streak of 24 consecutive penalties scored.

Kane, 32, lost his footing while planting his standing leg before sending the ball soaring over the bar.

Replays later appeared to show France under-21 international Belocian stamping on the spot twice before the penalty was taken.

The miss came in the 36th minute of Bayern’s eventual 1-0 victory, with Michael Olise scoring the winner.

When asked afterwards if he deliberately tried to sabotage the area, Wolfsburg defender Belocian replied: “Yes, that was easy.”

Teammate Patrick Wimmer admitted the struggling hosts were willing to use “dirty little tricks” in their relegation battle.

Bayern youngster Tom Bischof slammed the incident, saying: “I know Wolfsburg are battling relegation, but that action was unnecessary. Fair play should always apply.”

While Bayern manager and former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany said: “What do you expect them to do? Should they just clap when we score a goal? That the Wolfsburg player did that? Of course he shouldn’t have done it. But I can understand it too.”

The bizarre moment also sparked memories of a famous Premier League incident back in 2010.

During Manchester United’s 2-1 victory against rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford, Fernando Torres was spotted kicking up the penalty spot before Wayne Rooney stepped up.

Rooney saw his penalty saved by Pepe Reina, although he eventually scored the rebound.

Both England legends now understand the influence a tampered with penalty spot can have.
