BERNARDO SILVA escaped a red card after appearing to lash out at an opposition player.
The Portuguese playmaker was scrapping in the box against Brentford as Manchester City attempt to keep their title hopes alive.

But the star, who is leaving the club at the end of the season, took issue after he was crowded out near the touchline.
After falling over under pressure from defender Nathan Collins, the Prem veteran twisted and appeared to strike the back of the player’s leg.
Collins held his hands up to protest his innocence as the midfielder sprang to his feet and continued to confront him, before being pulled away by Nico O’Reilly.
VAR had a brief look at the incident, but soon deemed that the blow was not sufficient to warrant a red card.
Arsenal fans were none too pleased with the decision, which would have had significant implications for their heated title race.
One fan wrote on X: “That’s violent conduct by Bernardo Silva.”
Another added: “Bernardo Silva just threw a punch and isn’t getting sent off. The amount of s**t he gets away with is ridiculous.”
City fans were less concerned by the confrontation, with one writing: “Bernardo Silva is hilarious man the PL is gonna miss him.”
