EuroLeague Round 38: every playoff and play-in scenario explained

The 2025-26 EuroLeague regular season comes down to one last round, with 10 games on Thursday and Friday and no position fully locked after 37 rounds. The final standings still have room to move at the top, in the playoff chase, and in the play-in race.

Olympiacos Piraeus can finish first by winning, or by watching Valencia lose. Valencia Basket can take first only if it wins and Olympiacos loses, while a Valencia win with an Olympiacos victory still leaves the Greeks on top.

Real Madrid, Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and Zalgiris Kaunas are fighting for the two remaining spots that guarantee home-court advantage in the best-of-five playoffs. Real clinches home-court with a win, or if at least two of Zalgiris, Fenerbahce and Hapoel lose; the rest of its seed range runs from second to sixth depending on the result and the other contenders’ outcomes.

Hapoel clinches home-court with a win, or if both Fenerbahce and Zalgiris lose. It can finish second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth, depending on its own result and the results around it.

Fenerbahce secures home-court with a win and a loss by either Hapoel or Real Madrid. It can finish third, fourth, fifth or sixth, while Zalgiris can still finish anywhere from third to eighth.

Zalgiris clinches the playoffs with a win or a Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens loss. If it wins, it can climb as high as third, but it can also finish fourth, fifth or sixth depending on the rest of the results.

Panathinaikos still controls several key paths. It clinches the playoffs and finishes sixth if it wins and both Zalgiris and AS Monaco lose, while a win with different combinations can leave it seventh or eighth; a loss sends it to eighth, ninth or keeps it outside the playoff picture only through the tiebreak web.

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade is in the same crowded zone. It can clinch the playoffs and finish sixth if it wins and Zalgiris loses while Panathinaikos and Monaco both win, but it can also land seventh, eighth, ninth or 10th based on the final mix.

Monaco can still finish seventh, eighth or ninth, while FC Barcelona is playing for its season in a narrow corridor of outcomes. Barcelona can finish eighth, ninth or 10th, but it is eliminated if it loses and Dubai wins.

Dubai Basketball owns the last simple equation of the round: win and Barcelona loses, and it takes 10th place. Lose, or see Barcelona win, and Dubai is out.
