The Washington Wizards host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, February 11, with both teams navigating notable injury concerns that could shape the matchup. The contest arrives with Washington near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings and Cleveland holding a firm top-four position.
Washington enters at 14-38, having dropped back-to-back games by double digits. The injury report remains extensive, headlined by Anthony Davis being ruled out with a left finger sprain and Trae Young sidelined with a right knee MCL sprain and quad contusion.
D’Angelo Russell is also unavailable and listed as not with the team, while Cam Whitmore remains out due to a right shoulder deep vein thrombosis.
Bilal Coulibaly is questionable with right heel soreness, which is significant given his role as a primary perimeter defender and transition option. The wing averages 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals while starting all 32 games he has played.
Kyshawn George is also questionable because of a left ankle sprain, and his availability would matter for shot creation. The 22-year-old leads Washington’s perimeter group with 15.1 points, 4.9 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 37.9% from three.
Anthony Gill is listed as questionable with a right hand contusion. Alex Sarr has been Washington’s most consistent interior presence, averaging 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks across 41 starts.
Cleveland arrives with momentum after consecutive wins over Denver and Sacramento and sits fourth in the East at 33-21. The Cavaliers, however, will again be without Evan Mobley, who is sidelined by a left calf strain.
Mobley’s absence impacts Cleveland’s defensive versatility and secondary scoring, as he averages 17.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks. Jarrett Allen has taken on a heavier interior role and is posting 14.5 points and 8.3 rebounds on 61.5% shooting.
Max Strus remains out following left foot surgery for a Jones fracture, while Dean Wade is sidelined with a left ankle sprain. Two-way player Emmanuel Miller is out.
Donovan Mitchell continues to anchor Cleveland’s offense with 29.0 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. His shot creation has been critical in both prior meetings with Washington, which Cleveland won 148-115 and 130-126.
James Harden, recently integrated into the rotation, has averaged 22.5 points and 7.5 assists in his first two games.
