The Republic of Ireland could play Canada in a friendly in June, regardless on if they qualify for the World Cup.

According to the Irish Independent, the co-hosts of the World Cup have held talks with the FAI.

If Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side come through next months play-off’s they would have to travel across the Atlantic earlier than other nations, with a first group game taking place on June 11th.
