Free agent guard Cam Thomas has reached a contract agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks, agent Tony Ronzone tells Shams Charania of ESPN.

The player became available after the Brooklyn Nets waived him Thursday evening, with no deal materializing before the trade deadline.

Leading up to that decision, Thomas had made it clear he preferred a release if he wasn’t moved, allowing him to choose his next destination and find a situation where he could play a meaningful role.

“Super excited ready to actually help and contribute to another team,” Thomas told Marc J. Spears of Andscape. “My next team is getting elite scoring, good play-making and a good combo guard.”

Thomas has played 5 seasons for the Nets. He has averaged 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 239 regular-season games.
