Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca shared comments from Trayce Jackson-Davis, who spoke positively about his move to Toronto and his excitement about joining his new team.

Jackson-Davis reflected on his time in Golden State, noting how much he benefited from spending the past two and a half seasons alongside experienced stars such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Chris Paul.

He credited that environment with helping him grow and better understand the league.

Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic also offered encouraging feedback after seeing Jackson-Davis in action for the first time at practice.

He said the big man left “really good first impressions” early on.

“You can see that he’s a very smart player,” Rajakovic said. “He’s picking up things very quickly. … We’re going to allow him to get incorporated into the team and to show us who he is and how best I can use him.”

The coaching staff plans to give Jackson-Davis time to settle in and find his role as he adjusts to his new surroundings.

Jackson-Davis has played 3 seasons for the Warriors. He has averaged 6.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 166 regular-season games.
