The Sacramento Kings visit the Washington Wizards on Sunday, February 1, at 6:00 PM ET at Capital One Arena. Both teams are dealing with significant injury concerns that could shape the matchup.
Sacramento faces uncertainty with Malik Monk (right heel contusion) and Russell Westbrook (right foot contusion) listed as questionable. Keegan Murray (left ankle sprain) will not play.
The Wizards will be missing multiple contributors. Trae Young (right knee MCL sprain, quad contusion), Tre Johnson (left ankle sprain), Tristan Vukcevic (left hamstring strain), and Cam Whitmore (right shoulder DVT) are all out. Alex Sarr (right calf soreness) is questionable.
In their last two games, the Kings struggled on the road, losing 93-112 to Boston and 87-103 to New York. Sacramento’s top scorers, DeMar DeRozan (19.0 PPG) and Zach LaVine (19.3 PPG), will need to shoulder additional offensive responsibility if Monk or Westbrook cannot play. Domantas Sabonis continues to anchor the paint, averaging 11.2 rebounds per game.
Washington is coming off a mixed stretch, defeating Milwaukee 109-99 but then losing 111-142 to the Lakers. Kyshawn George contributes 15.7 PPG for the Wizards.
This season, the Kings defeated the Wizards 128-115 at Sacramento on January 16.
The Kings are currently 12-38, last in the Western Conference, while the Wizards sit 15th in the East at 12-35.
