The Charlotte Hornets outlasted the San Antonio Spurs 111-106, extending their winning streak to six games on Saturday night.

Brandon Miller dropped 26 points, while Collin Sexton finished 21 points and made all five three-point attempts off the bench for the Hornets.

LaMelo Ball had 16 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists to help give Charlotte their longest win streak in nearly a decade.

On the other hand, Dylan Harper scored 20 points to lead the Spurs as Victor Wembanyama was held in check for most of the game, finishing 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting and eight rebounds.

The Hornets’ 17-point lead in the third quarter disintegrated after Harrison Barnes hit back-to-back three-pointers, and the Spurs turned a Sexton turnover into a De’Aaron Fox layup to cut the lead to two with less than five minutes to play.

With 36 seconds left and the Hornets leading by three, officials initially called Fox for a foul on a Miller three-point attempt, but reviewed the call, and it was overturned.

After the review, a jump ball ensued, with the Hornets jumping against the 7-foot-4 Wembanyama.

The French big man launched a hurried three-point shot moments later and Charlotte snagged the rebound.

Miller made both free throws with 10.6 seconds left to seal the game, after being fouled as the Spurs were down by 3.

Charlotte outscoored San Antonio 35-17 in the second quarter behind 16 points and 3 three-pointers from Miller to take a 61-47 lead into the locker room.

The Hornets held Wembanyama to four points, one rebound, and one assist before the break.

Both teams will play home games in their next matchup, as the Spurs host the Magic on Sunday, while the Hornets host the Pelicans on Monday.
