Knicks dominate Trail Blazers behind Brunson and Anunoby

Jalen Brunson scored 26 points and OG Anunoby added 24 as the New York Knicks extended their winning streak to five games with a 127-97 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.

Josh Hart contributed 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns recorded 14 points and 20 rebounds. Hart tied Atlanta’s Jalen Johnson for the NBA lead with 31 double-doubles this season.

The Knicks built an early lead with a 34-12 first-half run and maintained control after Portland cut the deficit to 10 points at halftime. Seven New York players scored in double figures, highlighting the team’s balanced attack.

New York outscored Portland 68-48 in the second half and used a 14-2 run spanning the late third and early fourth quarters to pull away. The Knicks finished the final 13:26 by outscoring the Trail Blazers 45-28.

Portland struggled without consistent scoring from Deni Avdija, who was held to 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting with four turnovers. Shaedon Sharpe led the Blazers with 26 points, and Jerami Grant added 15 off the bench.

New York’s defense limited Portland’s key contributors while the Knicks shot 42% from three-point range and 48% overall. The win improves New York to 30-18, including a 19-6 record at home this season.

The Trail Blazers fall to 23-26 overall and 4-6 in their last ten games. Portland will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, while the Knicks return home to face the Los Angeles Lakers.
