Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon will be sidelined for several weeks after re-aggravating a right hamstring injury, NBA insider Shams Charania reported Thursday. The team will re-evaluate him in four to six weeks following the setback.

Gordon first suffered the injury in late November and had missed over a month earlier this season. He exited the Nuggets’ 102-100 win over Milwaukee on January 24 after scoring 13 points, unable to return in the second half.

The 30-year-old has been averaging 17.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 23 games this season, providing key scoring and versatility at the forward position. His absence comes as Denver faces a congested schedule and is already managing injuries to Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Christian Braun, and Jonas Valanciunas.

His absence will require Denver to adjust rotations and redistribute minutes among players like Peyton Watson, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Cameron Johnson. Watson has averaged 14.4 points per game, while Johnson contributes 11.7 points and 3.6 rebounds, stepping into a more significant role during Gordon’s absence.

The Nuggets, currently 32-16 and third in the Western Conference, face a critical stretch of games where depth will be tested.
