
Kerry have opened their Allianz Hurling League campaign with a fantastic win away to Derry.
The Kingdom won the Division 2 clash by 5-23 to 0-12.
Kerry put in a storming start, scoring 3 goals inside 7 minutes. The first of those came from Daniel Casey inside the opening minute. With the Kingdom ahead by 1-2 to 0-1 Colin Walsh netted in the 5th minute. A Michael Slattery point a minute later was followed by an Oisin Maunsell goal. When Ronan Walsh put over Kerry were ahead by 3-4 to 0-1 after 8 minutes.
Midway through the period Kerry led 3-8 to 0-4. The advantage at the break was 3-15 to 5 points.
The second half was notable for two Ronan Walsh goals.
Meath beat London 1-20 to 1-10.
In Division 1B, Carlow eased to a 2-18 to 1-11 win at home to Down
