Doc Rivers said before Monday’s game that Giannis Antetokounmpo will travel with the Bucks for their upcoming two-game road trip, though he won’t necessarily play against the Heat on Wednesday or the Knicks on Friday.

Antetokounmpo has been out for a week with a left adductor strain, and returning sometime during the next few games would match the team’s original recovery expectations.

After the road swing, Milwaukee returns home Saturday to face the Nets.

The Bucks’ skid continued afterward, dropping their fifth straight and third consecutive home game in a 115–103 loss to Portland.

Before tipoff, the 30-year-old Antetokounmpo caught up with former teammate Damian Lillard, who is sidelined for the entire season with a torn Achilles.

Portland was led by Deni Avdija, who finished with 22 points, five assists, four rebounds, and a block.

Toumani Camara added 13 points along with seven rebounds and three assists, while Sidy Cissoko contributed three points, two assists, a steal, and a rebound.

Off the bench, Rayan Rupert recorded two points, five rebounds, and two assists.

For Milwaukee, Thanasis Antetokounmpo posted three points, one steal, and one rebound, while Alex Antetokounmpo remained with the Wisconsin Herd on his G League assignment.
