Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is proud to see his dawg mentality rubbing off on how the roster competes every game (11-6 start/3-game winning streak/won 10 of last 12/8-2 at home).

Tom Chambers: “Well, it’s interesting. This team has not really had an identity, if you will, the last few years probably. And then we got you, and I’m like, ‘Really? Do we want him? He kinda seems like, you know. He kinda stares at people funny and he does weird stuff out there on the floor.’ But oh my goodness! You have rubbed off on every single person on this team. Not one person who comes out there is not going to be a dawg, D-A-W-G. That’s gotta make you proud.”
Brooks: “It does. It shows that my energy is contagious, makes guys go out there and be relentless, and I’m proud of those guys. We’re turning around the organization real fast and we’re winning games. And it comes from not only me, but with Book’s (Devin Booker’s) leadership, with the front office: BG (Brian Gregory), JB (Josh Bartelstein), Paul [Rivers], and Mat [Ishbia] making those calls and making those moves. So even though we’ve got guys down and out; we’ve got heart, we’ve got, like you said, we’ve got a bunch of dawgs and we play hard every single night.”
