
Dingle have beaten Mungret St Pauls Limerick in the semi-final of the AIB Munster Senior Club Football Championship.
They eased to victory in Austin Stack Park by 2-15 to 0-2.
Dingle goaled inside 2 minutes, Conor Geaney blasting home. Niall Geaney added a point, then put over a 2 pointer. It was 1-4 to no score after 7 minutes. The next score did not arrive until the 20th minute, Dingle going 8 clear thanks to a Matthew Flaherty point. It was 1-7 to no score by the 26 minute mark. The Dingle tally should have been more, with a strong wind behind them. However, among their 6 wides were 2 goal chances. The half ended with Dingle ahead by 1-8 to 0-0.
After Dingle scored the first 2 points of the second period Conor Geaney nabbed his second goal of the day to make it 2-10 to 0-0 after 40 minutes. The second half was a mere formality, affording Dingle the opportunity to run their bench. Mungret finally registered their first score in the 47th minute, a point from a free kick. They got their second point with 2 minutes remaining. Dingle prevailed by 19.
