Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels has been diagnosed with a sprained left wrist after leaving Monday’s game in the third quarter, according to The Associated Press.

As a result, he’ll be sidelined for Wednesday’s matchup against Washington, ending a streak of nearly a full year without missing a game – his last injury absence came on December 8, 2023.

McDaniels had been playing some of the best basketball of his career to open the season, averaging 17.5 points across 14 games while shooting an impressive 52.1% from beyond the arc.

In Cleveland, the Cavaliers will once again be without point guard Darius Garland, who is set to miss his fifth consecutive game on Wednesday.

Garland aggravated the left big toe he previously had surgery on, keeping him out of the lineup since last week. Still, head coach Kenny Atkinson sounded encouraged about the timeline for his return.

“He is close,” Atkinson said. “Really close.”
