Reid scores season-high 22 as Timberwolves dominate Mavericks

Naz Reid scored a season-high 22 points and led six Minnesota Timberwolves in double figures as the Timberwolves cruised past the short-handed Dallas Mavericks 120-96 on Monday at Target Center.

Reid totaled 19 points in the first half, including 10 in the opening quarter, and capped his performance with a late 3-pointer that sent Minnesota into the fourth quarter with a 32-point lead.

Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert each added 15 points, while Anthony Edwards had 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting as all five starters scored in double digits. Joe Ingles and Leonard Miller contributed off the bench to help the Timberwolves maintain control throughout.

Dallas was led by top draft pick Cooper Flagg and Brandon Williams, who each scored 15 points. Moussa Cissé made his first career start in place of sidelined big men Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II.

The Mavericks trailed by just seven early in the second quarter before Minnesota extended its lead to 61-44 at halftime and continued to dominate in the third, with McDaniels hitting three straight 3-pointers to push the margin to 30.

Minnesota shot 45% overall and 32% from three-point range, while Dallas struggled from deep, connecting on just 9 of 30 attempts. The Mavericks’ 3-point shooting remains the second-worst in the NBA at 31.1%.

The Timberwolves improve to 9-5 and will host the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, while the Mavericks fall to 4-11 and return home to face the New York Knicks.
