The Phoenix Suns announced the signing of guard Jamaree Bouyea to a two-way contract, NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Monday, November 17. Bouyea, who has played parts of three NBA seasons, is averaging 20 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in the G League this year.
Bouyea’s NBA experience includes stints with Miami, Washington, Portland, San Antonio, and Milwaukee, totaling 19 games with an average of 2.8 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest. His most recent NBA season saw him contribute 3.4 points and 2.0 assists in 12.4 minutes per game with Milwaukee.
The 26-year-old guard has demonstrated scoring and playmaking skills in the G League, posting a 52.7% field goal percentage and 100% free-throw rate over four games this season. His ability to create offense could provide depth for the Suns, who have relied heavily on stars Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks.
Phoenix enters the move with an 8-6 record, looking to stabilize its backcourt rotation. Booker leads the team with 28.4 points and 7.0 assists per game, while Dillon Brooks adds 22.0 points and 1.9 steals.
Bouyea will split time between the Suns and their G League affiliate the Valley Suns, continuing to develop his game while providing the team flexibility in guard rotations.
