Dallas Mavericks forward star Anthony Davis will still be out for at least a week as he will be re-evaluated due to his left calf strain, per Shams Charania.
The Mavericks also provided an update on Davis’ injury, stating that he is currently making good progress but will be examined again in 7-10 days.
Dallas head coach Jason Kidd told Mike Curtis that the big man wants to play already, but the team decided he should take necessary precautions, such as re-evaluations.
“He wants to play. He’s doing everything to get back. Looking at his appointment yesterday & seeing that it’s going to take another 7-10 days. For AD, I’m not trying to speak for him, but he wants to be out there to help us. but this gives him 7-10 days to get better & hopefully in 7-10 days he’s back on the floor,” Kidd said.
The NBA champion has already appeared in five games this season, averaging 20.8 points and 10.2 rebounds, while also missing nine games in the early part of the season.
