The Indiana Pacers have released their injury report ahead of Thursday night’s road game against the Phoenix Suns at Mortgage Matchup Center, and it’s extensive.
Six players have been ruled out, including All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton, who remains sidelined with a torn right Achilles tendon. Bennedict Mathurin (right great toe sprain), Obi Toppin (right foot stress fracture), Johnny Furphy (left ankle sprain), Quenton Jackson (right hamstring strain), and Kam Jones (lower back stress reaction) will also miss the game.
Haliburton’s absence continues to define Indiana’s early-season struggles. Without their floor general, the Pacers have fallen to 1–10. Pascal Siakam has carried the offensive load, averaging 24.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game while shooting efficiently from mid-range.
Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard have provided some scoring support, combining for over 30 points per game, but Indiana’s offense has lacked balance since Haliburton’s injury. The Pacers are averaging 109.5 points per game while allowing 124.7, a margin that has led to several double-digit defeats.
Depth has been another issue. With multiple rotation players sidelined, head coach Rick Carlisle has leaned heavily on young forwards Jarace Walker and Isaiah Jackson. Walker has averaged 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds while starting in seven of Indiana’s 11 games, and Jackson has added 8.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
The Suns, meanwhile, enter at 7–5 after a strong start to November. Devin Booker continues to lead the way with 28.2 points and 7.0 assists per game. Grayson Allen has emerged as Phoenix’s secondary scorer, averaging 19.0 points while shooting over 40 percent from three-point range.
Phoenix has won five of its last six games, including a 123–114 road victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. Their offense ranks among the top five in the league at 117.3 points per game, while their home record stands at an impressive 5–1.
The Pacers will need a standout performance from Siakam and improved defensive effort to slow down Booker and the Suns’ perimeter attack. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET in Phoenix.
