Former NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo takes a step to make his comeback in the NBA by signing a contract to enter the G League player pool, per NBA insider Jake Fischer

As G League rosters had to be set before an opening day on Friday, players who sign into the league are entered into the player pool, considering teams can file a claim to any player in the pool.

The 33-year-old guard recently played for the Guangzhou Loong Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association, where his appearance was seen in the last month when they faced the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers during the NBA preseason.

In his last matchup against the Spurs, Oladipo proved that he still has an NBA-caliber level after contributing 20 points, five rebounds, and five steals in 29 minutes, followed by another 24 points and five assists against the Clippers.

Since the 2022-23 season, the veteran guard has not played in the league, where he was last seen with the Miami Heat, but suffered a patellar tendon injury in Game 3 of their first-round playoffs series against the Milwaukee Bucks.

This setback has restrained Oladipo from competing for the entire two seasons from 2023-25, making Oct 6 with Guangzhou his debut after 30 months.

The former second pick overall made back-to-back All-Star appearances during his stint with the Indiana Pacers.

Oladipo had a career average of 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and .9 assists per game in 10 seasons with five different teams.
