Delonte West, the former NBA player whose post-basketball life has been marred by repeated legal and personal troubles, was once again taken into custody in Virginia, this time following a concerning incident involving his health.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, officers responded to a call on November 3 about “a male found unconscious and not breathing.”

When police and emergency medical services arrived at the intersection of Fair Haven Avenue and Richmond Highway, they discovered that West was, in fact, breathing.

Authorities say they offered to transport West to a hospital for medical attention, but he refused. Officers noted that he appeared highly intoxicated, prompting them to take him into custody “for his own safety.”

Police confirmed that West was later bonded out, and at this time, it remains unclear whether he will face any formal charges related to the incident.

This latest run-in with law enforcement adds to a troubling pattern for the 42-year-old former NBA guard.

Nearly one year ago, in November 2024, West was arrested by the same police department for trespassing after returning to a location from which he had previously been banned.

Earlier that year, in June 2024, he was taken into custody again on allegations of violating conditions of his release and resisting arrest.
