Blake Wesley underwent a successful procedure on Wednesday to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot, according to a statement released by the Trail Blazers.

The team confirmed that “he will begin rehabbing right away and is expected to miss eight-to-12 weeks.”

Initially, Wesley was ruled out “indefinitely” after the diagnosis of the broken bone, but this updated timetable suggests the earliest possible return could come “around the end of 2025,” with the possibility that his recovery “extends into 2026.”

Before the injury, Wesley had been in strong form, showing flashes of development during his first six games with Portland.

He had become one of the Blazers’ key backcourt contributors off the bench, especially while Scoot Henderson was sidelined by a hamstring issue.

This progress came after Wesley signed a one-year, fully guaranteed deal with Portland this summer, following a stint in San Antonio where he averaged 4.3 points and 2.4 assists in 14.3 minutes per game over three seasons.

His move to the Blazers came after being traded from San Antonio to Washington and then bought out with the Wizards before joining the Blazers.
