New York City defender Kevin O’Toole has been called into the Republic of Ireland squad for the first time.
The 26-year-old qualifies to play through his grandfather and will be in contention for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Hungary and Portugal.
Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson says he’s pleased to get O’Toole into the international setup.

Evan Ferguson has also been included despite suffering an injury with Roma last week, but there’s no place for in-form Celtic striker Johnny Kenny.
