Mac McClung has been waiting for this moment again.
The Indiana Pacers are signing the first-ever three-peat slam dunk champion to a multiyear contract after spending time in the camp and two-way deals since 2021, per Shams Charania.
The Pacers waived the former 2nd pick overall center James Wiseman to have a roster spot for the high-flying guard, but will sign a non-guaranteed multiyear deal.
Wiseman had just returned to the court from an Achilles’ tear he suffered in the first game of the last season.
Obviously, the franchise needed a guard as T.J. McConnell is rehabbing from a hamstring injury he suffered before the season, while Tyrese Haliburton is out for the season because of an Achilles tear.
McClung played for the Orlando Magic last season, but before that, he also competed for the Sixers, Lakers, and the Bulls.
