Davion Mitchell returned to action on Sunday, making his preseason debut for the Heat after missing three games due to calf soreness, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel.

Mitchell, who signed a two-year, $24 million deal with Miami during the offseason, saw limited minutes as the team eases him back into the rotation. He played only in the first half, recording two points and two assists in 10 minutes.

Speaking after the game, Mitchell emphasized that the preseason is an important period to regain rhythm and adapt to the team’s evolving system.

“Preseason is kind of when you get your rhythm,” he said.

“Especially with our new offense, kind of learn how to play the new offense. But for me, it’s just kind of just trying to find my rhythm. But I’ll figure that out in the next couple days.”

Mitchell has played 4 seasons for the Kings, Heat, and Raptors. He has averaged 7.6 points and 3.3 assists in 301 regular-season games.
