Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis could be unstoppable once they find their grooves.

After the Dallas Mavericks clashed in two preseason matchups, the highly prized rookie aimed to help Anthony Davis inside the paint, as the team’s offensive and defensive plays relied on them more heavily.

Flagg said that he is currently going through a huge adjustment, especially with playing on the team.

“I think it’s been huge. I think team-wise, just getting a feel, it’s a different game. Different spacing, different levels,” Flagg said while discussing his takeaways from the game.

The 6-foot-9 wing from Duke spoke about his concern for helping Davis and aims to improve their chemistry during this preseason, so that when it comes to important matchups, they can deliver well.

“I have to find ways to help AD more, play off him a little better, help him impact the game when he’s posting up, getting his isos and whatnot, so I have to find a way to help him a little bit more. But it’s been huge just trying to fit together. That’s what preseason is for. Just for us to come out and get those real game minutes together and kind of gel.”

Despite falling short against the Charlotte Hornets in their previous preseason game, Flagg contributed 11 points, four assists, and three boards while Davis had 12 points and four boards.

The two wings posed a significant threat to the league once they developed their chemistry, and were also expected to lead the Mavericks to the postseason.

For now, the Dallas looks forward to getting to know each other this preseason as they face the Utah Jazz in their next game tonight.
