Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody has been ruled out for the remainder of the preseason due to a left calf issue, head coach Steve Kerr confirmed. Moody sustained the injury in practice and will now focus on recovering ahead of the regular season opener.
The Warriors are hopeful Moody will be ready for their season opener on October 22 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Kerr downplayed the severity of the injury, stating he is “not too concerned” about the timeline for Moody’s return.
Moody appeared in two preseason games before the setback, scoring 19 points in a victory over the Lakers and adding 10 points in a win against Portland.
The 23-year-old guard has steadily developed since entering the NBA in 2021. Over four seasons, he has averaged 7.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 36.7% from three-point range. Moody’s ability to stretch the floor has made him an important rotational piece for the Warriors.
Moody’s early-season return could be critical as Golden State faces a challenging Western Conference schedule, beginning with back-to-back games against the Lakers and Denver.
