Dillon Brooks loves competing with Devin Booker.
Despite the Phoenix Suns falling short against the Brooklyn Nets in two preseason matchups in Macao, Dillon Brooks often applauds Devin Booker for his quick adjustments after being traded in the offseason.
The Suns have had a positive output so far in the preseason blockbuster trade, despite acquiring much younger players.
Brooks, known as one of the villains in the league, plays an essential role with the Phoenix, and he is doing it smoothly as he gets fit with Booker, based on recent reports, ever since he was traded.
“It’s been easy. My first call when I got traded was to Book, tryna get acquainted. He’s been like a big brother to me, taking me under his wing. Being able to play besides him and not be able to guard him, [Book smiles], is better for me,” Brooks said.
The Canadian forward has scored 40 points in three games, despite being primarily known for his defensive abilities, and may unlock his potential as a two-way player for the Suns.
Booker needed this type of role player to step up, as he had been the leader and veteran for the franchise after the revamped roster.
With this, the fans are slowly witnessing the maturity progress of the four-time NBA All-Star, who has spent a decade in the league.
The Suns were obtaining what they thought fit, but it’s still going to be a long way to find the groove of their newcomers, especially Jalen Green.
