
Mid Kerry have booked their place in the last four of the Garvey’s SuperValu County Senior Football Championship.
They won their quarter-final against Spa in Austin Stack Park, Tralee by 1-28 to 2-9.
The first score of the encounter was a Spa goal, Cian Tobin netting after 4 minutes. Mid Kerry responded with a point, then hit two more to draw level by the 9th minute. Liam Carey pointed Mid Kerry in front at 0-4 to 1-0. Sean O’Brien doubled that advantage. Mid Kerry led by 7 points to 1-1 after 18 minutes. A Daire Cleary goal for Mid Kerry 5 minutes from half time had them 10 clear. A Sean O’Brien two pointe extended the gap to 1-13 to 1-11. Shane Cronin goaled for Spa in the final minute but at half time the District were ahead by 1-16 to 2-2.
Mid Kerry had 5 of the opening 6 points in the second period to push further ahead, at 1-22 to 2-3. They eased to a 16 points victory.
